Trained Workers As Lost Public Assets
The looting of public assets continues unabated here in Chicago. This time it’s building engineers in the Chicago Public School district.
The unelected, Rahm-appointed school board chose privatization for “efficiency” when existing engineers (i.e. public assets with historical knowledge of buildings) offered LESS money to stay under contract. The new contract effectively returns money to private campaign sponsors.
Given the cost of employee training (past and present), why aren’t people considered “lost assets” when privatization occurs?
This is criminal. And it’s being done by a Democratic administration. And people wonder why some voters are skeptical of another “Third Way” administration in national office. – TL
