Second Term, Hopefully Not The Same As The First

January 21, 2013

Rick Perlstein continues a theme from his other pieces about President Obama—a theme with which I agree: Obama may have learned some valuable lessons about politics while in Chicago, but he missed some of the most important ones—lessons that would’ve helped him in his first term. And what’s worse, he missed learning things from the most prominent black politician Chicago’s ever seen, Harold Washington. …Here’s to hoping Obama’s second term is more effective than the first. I hope Perlstein’s first drafts of history are significant revised, in a progressive way, over the next four years. – TL
