When They Say For Profit, They Mean It

March 7, 2010

Margaret Soltan explores what kind of money we’re talking about when for-profit schools and educational institutions (e.g. Kaplan) follow through on their business model. The sky is the limit. What is sad to me is how this distorts the pay that reputable, traditional institution heads can demand. I might be operating on a “punitive” pay model, but I don’t believe the head of any research one university should make more than, say, $250-300,000 dollars. I mean, most already get free cars, free houses, etc. How much is enough? – TL
