Three Blogroll Additions

June 21, 2008

Easily Distracted: Culture, Politics, Academia and Other Shiny Objects – This is the weblog of Timothy Burke, history professor at Swarthmore College near Philadelphia. Burke’s topics are eclectic, but his posts are very thoughtful. I contemplated blogrolling him a few months ago, but have no idea why I didn’t follow through. Perhaps the title of his weblog explains why? Since Burke is an historian who writes publicly, I’ll put Easily Distracted in the “Blogs About History And Education” genre.

The Edge of the American West – This is a group weblog authored by two historians (Eric Rauchway and Ari Kelman) and an literature guy (Scott Eric Kaufman, who historicizes literature, and who you might know from his first weblog love, Acephalous). Even though the authors are not anonymous, because the subjects range far and wide Edge of the American West will be classified under “Other Blogs Of Interest.”

I Used to Be Disgusted, Now I Try to Be Amused – This anonymous weblog, written under the moniker “Werner Herzog’s Bear,” is produced by a friend of mine currently (but not for long) employed at Grand Valley State University. We’ve known each other for years, and became reacquainted in Fort Collins while reading AP exams. Since WHB’s topics range far and wide, I’ll list IUBD,NITBA under “Other Blogs of Interest.” – TL
