UMKC And Labor Studies

June 22, 2007

Administrators at the University of Missouri-Kansas City are planning to shut down the school’s 22 year-old Institute for Labor Studies. The circumstances behind the closing are vague (i.e. simple cost-cutting? ideology?), and ILS participants are trying to stop the closure. The well-known labor historian David Montgomery, of Yale University, has come out against the closing.

If these documents move you, click here for instructions on a petition against the action. – TL
