Intersections Between Intellectual History And The History Of Education

My colleague Andrew Hartman over at U.S. Intellectual History wrote a reflection on the advantages of looking for U.S. intellectual history in the history of education. Hartman also explores in his post the work of Edward Purcell, Jr., and how Purcell’s 1973 book, The Crisis of Democratic Theory, demonstrates the applicability of both subfields to problems and questions beyond their traditional scopes.
